Helicopter Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Well-Known Southern California Shoreline
A helicopter flying near a popular California shoreline abruptly began spiraling wildly, eventually descending rapidly and smashing into a row of palm groves as spectators observed.
Recordings uploaded on the internet show the helicopter beginning to twirl above the beach then descending towards the perimeter of the beach, where it becomes wedged between palms and a steps close to the Pacific Coast highway.
First Aid Details
The Huntington Beach fire department stated five people were transported to a medical facility including a pair who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the incident on the weekend.
Three persons on the road were hurt. Information on their condition were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was not immediately released.
Planned Function
The department indicated the aircraft was associated with an regular “Cars and Copters” benefit occasion scheduled for Sunday.
